The Chad Shad is arguably the best-known member of the KGB Family and has established itself over the past few years as an absolute all-rounder in the world of swimbaits. It features a very natural, stable swimming action and can be worked cleanly at both slow and slightly faster speeds without losing any of its appeal.

This lure is particularly effective in situations where predatory fish are targeting larger prey fish. Thanks to its distinct silhouette and its calm yet noticeable movement, it is highly effective in both clear and slightly murky water.

The Lil Guy is the compact version within the KGB Family and is designed especially for anglers who prefer smaller lures but still don’t want to miss out on fishing with glidebaits. Thanks to its compact design, it moves at a higher frequency and thus appears very lifelike in the water.

Compared to its bigger brother, the Lil Guy sinks a bit faster due to its smaller volume, which makes it particularly versatile for use at various water depths. At the same time, it remains super easy to work and is forgiving of less-than-perfect movements. This makes it not only appealing to experienced anglers but also an ideal introduction to the world of glidebaits.

The K-Rig CS3 is a hard bait that has attracted particular attention due to its origins and the concept behind it. Developed in the U.S. and inspired by American swimbait and trophy fishing, it features a system that many anglers in Europe haven’t encountered before.

Especially in the American fishing scene, where the focus is often on selectively targeting larger fish, this concept has proven to be highly effective. Instead of simply presenting a classic hardbait, the K-Rig CS3 moves through the water with a much more natural, “freer” action. That’s exactly what initially surprises many anglers—and then wins them over.

Ever since its introduction, we’ve been receiving feedback time and again from anglers who confirm exactly that. The lure breaks the mold, moves differently than typical hard baits, and as a result often elicits exactly the reaction you need when fish are no longer responding to standard lures. The KGB Signature Rod was developed in collaboration between SPRO and KGB Swimbaits and is specifically designed for use with glidebaits. It is manufactured in the U.S. from a 40-ton carbon or high-modulus graphite blank and is equipped with high-quality Fuji components such as guides and a reel seat.

The rod is designed as a moderate-heavy setup, offering an excellent balance of control and casting distance. It is rated for a casting weight of approximately 14 to 85 grams, covering the range of classic glidebaits and larger swimbaits. With a length of 7’9” or 2.36 m, depending on the model, it provides additional casting distance and precise lure control at a distance.

It’s especially in open waters, polders, or larger bodies of water that the rod’s length really comes into its own. The rod remains controlled and precise at all times and is clearly designed for use in expansive water environments with larger lures.

Now that we have the right rod and the right lures, the KGB Elite MG 300 completes the setup. The reel was also developed in collaboration with Kevin Brightwell and is specifically designed for use with large swimbaits.

It combines a lightweight yet very sturdy magnesium and aluminum construction with high reliability in everyday use. Thanks to its size 300, it offers ample line capacity for long casts and the use of heavy lures, while remaining pleasantly light and well-balanced in the hand.
