Just a slogan? Hocus-pocus? A profound belief or the guarantee of success for one or two more fish in the landing net?
Let's take a closer look at the attractant that gives your bait that special something extra.
Many professionals and team anglers rely on lures with an extra kick of smell, taste and appearance to make them even more catchy. SPRO developed the Smell Gel. The impressively proven recipe for success with which Jan Pusch won the YPC 2021. The bite booster is and was one of the factors that contributed to the success.

If someone were to ask me: attractant yes or no? My answer would clearly be yes. It's now a must-have in my pocket or on my carabiner. In the winter months, there is no bait that I don't put in the water without Smell Gel. As I am often out fishing with colleagues, it is a recurring phenomenon that lures with Smell Gel catch better and attract larger fish in particular. Once the crayfish, tube or soft lure is in the mouth, it won't let go.
A little catch story by the way: Last year I was able to catch a zander that had neither the jig hook nor the extra stinger in its mouth. It just held on to the bait until it was in the net. Whether it was the plus point Smell Gel with shrimp flavor or a reflex of the jaw cannot be proven, but there has only been one such case in my many years of fishing.

Why Smell Gel?
Its consistency is much more viscous than that of other manufacturers. It can be used on all conventional baits. Metal baits, softbaits, hardbaits. I even use it when deadbait fishing. The baitfish with plenty of Smell Gel on it definitely brings in a few more fish. And believe me, the fish caught with Smell Gel really eat the baitfish. The gel stays on the bait for an extremely long time and evaporates very slowly. The scent trail that lies behind the bait is a tempting offer for any predator. The aroma ensures that the bait stays in the mouth for longer. Packaged in a practical tube, there are six different flavors: Anise UV, Crab UV, Shrimp UV, Worm UV, Garlic, Crawfish.
With 75ml in a tube you can get through a whole season.

A little extra tip
Most of the lures in our SPRO range have small shallows, grooves or offset slits into which the Smell Gel can be easily applied. This ensures that it sticks to or in the bait even longer. All gels with UV function can give non-UV-capable lures an extra attraction.
Ultimately, it can be said that all varieties of SPRO Smell Gel give your bait that certain something and help to trigger the target fish to bite a little more. Visit your trusted SPRO dealer and see for yourself.
See you next time, your Focki!
